i danced last night...and i mean i knew i was awful...but i danced...and was reminded that i was awful....ruby red absolut man...the death of me....i'm going to have a hand print on my forehead from where i hit myself in the head whenever i remind myself that i did dance last night....it was fun though so maybe i'll dance again...in a closet by myself

it seems i've come to a crossroads i haven't been wanting to take for a long time...chances are I will not be in Orono next semester...i have been staying in Orono pretty much because I love the campus and I love being around my friends there...however...if i had zero friends there i would be going to UMaine Machias or I would be in the Coast Guard...so in the next couple weeks I am going to be deciding between one or the other so don't count on seeing me around next semester unless something crazy happens...which is doubtful...not that I'm seen around much this semester because I am home working the christmas wreath season at home but i need change for me...i've thought about it up and down...and it has to be done...sorry...there are days when i really hate life...todays a great example...fuck

At 11:00PM October 19th, this Thursday of 2006, I, A.J. Carter attended the show otherwise known as the club Ushiauas...you can tell by going there I did not learn how to spell the name of the club but I went to 21+ night tonight and I can honestly say that it wasn't awful if I hadn't been the DD and were drinking more than a couple beers and nursing them....I may even have danced. The club and music may have stopped and the football players may have turned their heads to me and the football players would have said DAYUUUMMMM get this fool into the hick side of the bar which is the outside portion where I had the most fun...they had a live band over there and they were pretty good playing some petty and some garth brooks and a country version of 'because i got high' which some of the readers of this may appreciate...or would have appreciated...but all in all...dusk to dusk...Ushies wasn't all that bad and if I wasn't the DD I would have a great time...I also saw a lot of people there that I know...extraordinary...

there is a really loud party at my apartment with a couple 17 year old hs juniors...awkward....i've had quite a bit going on lately...i'm poor...i don't eat anymore...and i scrounge just enough money up to pay for rent and no one hires me...so i've been having thoughts directed towards non-college things...i'm kinda thinking military service...leaning towards united states coast guard because my family is all coast guard on both sides...school is going alright just not alright enough for me...this apartment thing just isn't my thing...and i need an out...and i don't think i can get into dtav...so much changes when you turn 21...and i love umaine...hockey is good...just things don't go my way...and yeah that's life...but i can always come back to school and i can go to school while i'm in the service...but i dunno...umaine isn't feeling me right now...to be this poor...seriously its november and of the 10-15 places i've applied to i have received no call backs and i've followed up on all and all were hiring when i applied...there must be something with my application that turns people off to me...doesn't make sense...i just feel the cg is my perfect out...frustration all around...

On Thursday the 7th there's a moonlight deal with prizes and all kinds of stuff at Margaritas....anyone wanna go? I'd like to get a good 4 or 5 people at least to go.

The apartment is pretty slick but we do not have the internet/cable hooked up yet so I don't get online much unless i stop in in the union or library. Washburn apartment 10. I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays this first semester because well...i was able to get it that way so i did.

In other news, one of my favorite pitchers and former Portland Sea Dog Jon Lester was diagnosed with cancer...i think its non-hodgkins lymphoma...but seriously...it'd take a tragedy for the red sox to have worse luck this year.

On the 6th I may be doing the Maine State Police physical fitness test with bill...38 situps in a minute, 29 pushups in a minute...i can do both of those...the situp part is tough....and run a mile and a half in under 12:38 i think....i can run a mile and a half in just under 10...sometimes quicker...

so until i get my internet it is 735-5483...have fun at school

it seems as though this first semester will be a great time...all my friends will be around and there will be a lot of time spent ...and money i'm sure also...at the bars...the depressing part comes when everyone! well a lot of people will be gone second semester of this school year...i just wish you were all on the 20 year college program like i am...over achievers...and that you could all go to the bars with me....slackers...trust me plaid knickerbokers and plaid socks will be worn with white penny loafers...and a plaid polo...and a plaid beret...sometime soon...seriously guys way to overachieve and let grad school and the maine state police academy get in the way of a possible great time...in other news...my younger sister had her first child on august 24th...all 9 pounds of it (Ayden Cook)...i didn't play enough golf this summer...wasted too much money...didn't see enough of my friends...i have posted all of 3 or 4 times this summer but for those wondering the birthday was fun....woke up in the morning on the bathroom floor...drank with bill, drew, and adam kirkland was there also...it was a good time and quite memorable...well up until i walked up the stairs...i think i got in bed then quickly got out...who cares! jaeger put me over the edge...i'll see all of you when school starts i'm sure...have a good remaining day or two home...off to see beerfest...

As i get bored at work this is the best idea i can come up with. First thing to address-

Nomar Garciaparra/all star- Its hard not to talk about my favorite baseball player of all time. I wear a Dodger cap daily in his honor. He topped a couple other guys to get the last spot on the NL All-Star roster getting 4 million votes. A.J. "dumbass" Pierzynski got it for the AL. I like how Ozzie Guillen takes a mediocre pitcher of his own for the all star roster and disregards great numbers that the twins rookie pitcher has put up. He has like a 9-1 record and a 1.98 era or something. How does that not make the all-star team. Also, i hate to boast my own team but Beckett and Schill have good number also. Also it kinda sucks that Mike Lowell didn't make the team too but he had stiff competition at 3rd base. Back to nomar. In searching for some good nomar articles today I found talks that came out brought up via Bob Ryan who i do like usually when he goes on Around the Horn and he's a boston sportswriter which is never a bad thing for anyone unless you don't live in boston or you play for the red sox. Getting away from Bob Ryan sort of he brought up the possibility that Nomar took steroids and that was the cause of his crazy groin pull that he had. It pulled the muscle right off the bone. This is where everyone swallows really hard because that would hurt. Location location location. I've been a big nomar fan since probably his sophomore season and I wouldn't pay attention to the game growing up unless nomar was up or the sox were on D because i'd get to see him field a ground ball (not always a fun thing to watch). For those who don't know Nomar was valedictorian of his high school in Whittier California born July 23rd 1973 i believe. He's married to Mia Hamm in case any women are reading this. not sure why that would appeal to women but he is! ok no mo nomar. Congrats and i voted 30+ times for him btw.

The NFL- Ok seriously. I have no idea how the patriots can be given predictions of super bowl champs! does anyone else find this absolutly ridiculous? Yes they have a great coach, a great quarterback, and a great kicker but they lost a lot this year. Some receivers, some key defensive players, and misc. others. People act like the Steelers are going to roll over and die when it comes to facing the pats. Last I checked a motorcycle accident that breaks your jaw in no way has any baring on how well you throw a football. Of course my predictions lean in the direction of my Miami Dolphins. Ummm do I have to go any further than saying Daunte Culpepper...then you'll say he's coming back from an injury he'll suck...then i'll say Joey Harrington! then you'll say interceptions...then i'll say Marcus Vick then you'll say jail time...then i'll say Dan Marino then you'll be speechless...until you think that dan marino never won a super bowl...but man did he have all the passing records or what...my predictions are that the Cowboys are going to win the super bowl this year...Terrell Owens is simply amazing...Drew Bledsoe has a big time receiver...not a Terry Glen (well i think he has a terry glenn still) not a Joey Galloway, a terrell owens...loud mouth....terrell owens...my predictions sway in the direction of the Cowboys... and i love to hate the cowboys....

The NBA- Next years predictions for me are easy. The same predictions as I had the year before. Miami Heat. Yep i predicted the heat this year to win it even before they dropped Stan Van Gundy and picked up Pat Riley. To those who are happy that the heat won the finals can throw all thanks to one person and i think we all know who that is...if you're thinking Dwayne Wade you're crazy...try Jason Williams my friends...the heat without Jason Williams is like lifetime without golden girl reruns...like G-Unit without the game....like me without...feet...none of those things can operate without the other....ok maybe not so much but i'm a big JWill fan...I may have been a naysayer towards the celtics possibility of picking up Allen Iverson in the past but I believe its the only person on the market that the celtics could pick up that would give them a legitimate chance of not repeating as NBA team with the most players of former college players who were mediocre and continute to be mediocre as professionals (exclude Pierce, and a select other person or two and all the pre-teens the celtics have who are decent) Just no one stands out on the celtics...think of the final 3 or 4 teams left. The mavs...all kinds of big names...the suns...big names...and the heat...a ton of big names...i also like the idea of having 4 guys on a team that can go into the locker room and go hey 85-90% of the time I know i'm going to start the game...Celtics didn't have that although I was a fan of the mid season trade of picking up Wally and losing a showboat in Ricky Davis...Wally wasn't a big impact player for the celtics but I do feel if they are able to hold on to him even after the possible acquisition of Allen Iverson I see the Celtics as having one of the biggest 1 2 and 3 men threats in the NBA if not the most...all pierce has a possibility of swinging to a 4 man...the NBA now is so much different than it used to be...I like to think of the NBA of the 80's and early early 90's as boxing...the NBA now is more of a WCW world wrestling federation...well thats an over exaggeration by a long shot...but when teams like the celtics, grizzlies, mavericks try to stay away from players who draw fans for their antics just as much as they do their actual talent is impressive and you have to applaud the GMs of those teams..Danny Ainge, Jerry West, and whoever runs the Mav's....some crony that Cuban hired...The heat are a great example of a team that is overrun by players who try to put on a show...Shaq enough said...Antoine Walker...makes a face when he misses a shot...cries...shakes his head and then runs back up the floor once the shot clock is down to 12...Gary Payton is a slacker even though i grew up being a big fan...the heat just had players who backed these guys up when they decided that emotion would take the place of basketball....for Shaq- Zo...for Antoine- Udonis Haslam, for Payton- JWill and for JWill- Payton...but usually jwill for payton...back to the celtics...i know they won't be able to hold on to wally but if they do what a starting five (in my mind) and what a bench...Allen Iverson, Sebastian Telfair(interchangable with AI at one and two spot), Wally Scerbiak, Paul Pierce, and some young big guy...ok off my celts kick....no more no more...i'm creating room for argument...

UMaine Hockey- For the aspiring fan our team looks decent this year...we have some promising incoming freshman, a forward and a defenseman stand out but i can't remember their names...unfortunatly we lost some great seniors...Captain Greg Moore to name one...but we still have a grip of returning players who will be huge for us...of course my favorite player Simon Dans-Pepin all 6'7 of him....who recently got drafted by the blackhawks...Michel Leveille will be the captain this year...also returning is big hitter Rob Bellamy....goalie Ben Bishop will be back that won't be too rough....Matty Lundin left so we picked up a new freshman goaltender where Shelly decided to no longer play for the team...we, as we do every year, have another legit chance at frozen four...now i'm going to rank the top 5 big names this year...

MLB- Seriously watch out for the Toronto Blue Jays...I see them as a serious contender for 1st place in the East come the second half...how the Red Sox hold up against the Yankee and Blue Jay pressure depends mostly on whether or not they can pick up another starting pitcher that can hold a 3.50 ERA tops and average 7 innings because middle relief blows...Taverez does good when nothing counts...Saenez...i heard he may be gone in a couple days...Hansen...sucks...so far....the only consistency isn't even really super consistent when it comes to Mike Timlin....i miss the Scott Williamson days and when Arroyo came out of the pen...expect a big time acquisition by the red sox in the pitching department if they expect to keep the yankees and blue jays chasing them...on the positive side the only pitching the yankees will be getting is no pitching so i've heard but instead the possibility is hitting with re-acquiring Alfonso Soriano...talk about a huge payroll not that the sox have a small one...if the red sox pick up anyone it would be more than likely Bobby Abreu...if they lose anyone due to him it will probably be Wily Mo Pena who while healthy impressed me...but Gabe "Jacked and probably on roids" Kapler is back and playing and doing a hell of a job...and he can run...Wily Mo could probably lift my house over his head but Kap is a fan favorite and proving he deserves his old position back that he had during the '04 campaign...There seriously is no room for offense on the red sox lineup...Alex Gonzalez is hitting real well as of late...Loretta is an allstar...Lowell is lighting it up...Tek is what i see as a low downspot but still is playing well...also i vote to keep Youk at the leadoff position and Coco in the 7 spot...the sox future comes down to what Theo can pick up for middle relief and one starting pitcher...Lester gets his test tonight against the "i almost hate you more than the yankees" white sox...sorry I cannot handle Ozzie Guillen and A.J. Pierzynski...its a well known fact that Pierzynski is seen as a jackass around the league...i wish it had been someone like Kap punching him instead of Michael Barrett...he'd have the Ben Roethlisberger look going on...he also would be unable to talk then...that'd be a plus...unfortunatly if i had to pick a team away from the red sox to win the series i would pick the sox because of contreras and thome...thome is huge this year...29 jacks with papi...its funny how contreras sucked as a yankee but owns as a white sox player..

NASCAR- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is making a late push for the championship so don't overlook him....just kidding NASCAR fails to hold my attention and for anyone who calls it a sport...its not...sorry...just because some of them are in shape does not make them athletes...closest thing to an athelete is the pit crew...i fail to find the interest in going to a race and seeing a guy with the number 8 shaved into his back hair...doesn't cut it for me...NASCAR SUCKS so say i

NHL- the bruins finally got rid of their GM and picked up a couple decent players...i don't follow them much...i pretty much just try to follow umaine grads...go bruins?

UMaine Womens basketball...i just met kinda a 6'6 incoming freshman who is going to be playing and she is really tall and probably could beat me easilly at basketball...i apoligize to these 5 incoming freshman that the first student they meet while on campus is me...you would think the university could find someone better...haha
